Consists of chapter constitutions, meeting minutes, correspondence and subject files. The meeting minutes cover 1952-1976, and those for the Executive Committee are quite incomplete. The correspondence is in three sections: chapter president, corresponding secretary and general, with the 1960-1970s the most complete. The 1954 controversy series deals with the dismissal of four members, for which the records are quite complete and include charges and replies, statements and reports on the issue, newspaper clippings, and notes on the hearings. The subject files deal primarily with academic freedom, tenure, and economic issues.
